Week 87 Lucky Dip

For our 5 weeek months we have a 'Lucky Dip' challenge and a special guest.
this month we have asked Susan Goetter to join us. You will all know and love her as she is such an inspiration, entering multiple challenges every week.....what a star!
Our challenge this week is
Love & Marriage
Susan

Mandi

i am just showing a wedding set I have made for ouor exhibition this Sunday, tomorrow.
These bows have been everywhere around the blog world. I love them!
The paper is Pink Petticoat Harlequin in Pistachio.

Chrissie
Whenever I think of weddingy cards I nearly  always turn to white on white. Maybe it's the purity I associate with marriage I don't know, but I love the look nevertheless.
Here I used a Stampin' Up embossing folder with a few Memory Box flowers and a computer generated sentiment mounted on Nesties.
Really simple.
Here is another in the same vein, an easel card this time. Lots of embossing and a computer generated sentiment. I apologise for the dreadful photos, but I seem to be having some issues recently with images of my cards. I will try harder!

Hope you feel the love this week....
Happy crafting

Week 86 Recipe

For our recipe this week,we'd like to revisit a challenge which has been very popular each time we have used it and it's simply to
Take 3 Challenges
If you look back at the list of our past challenges on the page at the top of our blog, you can choose any three to combine in your project... if you fancy the theme of a One Layer Week... you don't necessarily have to make a one layer card for this particular challenge.

Chrissie

Here is a simple card with no stamping. The sentiment was computer generated in Skinny jeans hollow and solid fonts. The ted is from a Sizzlets die, mounted on Spellbinders ovals and glittered with Glamour DUst. The final touch is a length of pretty ribbon.
Challenges Week 23 Something with Legs
Week 49 Predominantly Purple
Week 68 Card for a Child.
I was asked to make a card for someone who wanted to send greetings to friends who have gone to live in the States for a couple of years. This is what I came up with. Once more there is no stamping involved with this one.
The ziggy zaggy bit sort of represents the ocean between our two countries and the star was to save me from constructing a complete American flag... I would have hated to get the number or position of the stars and stripes wrong. Betsy Ross wouldn't have been pleased!
Here are the combined challenges for this one.
Week 39 Stars
Week 55 Punches or die cuts
Week 70 Red , White and Blue

Mandi

For my card I have these three challenges in mind, but, there have been so many others it would fit too...
Week 1 Pink, Black & White
Week 43 Bling
Week 58 Script
Week 55 Punch or Die Cuts [flower]
I cut a square of 9cm x 9cm.
Stamped the Stampin Up dots from the Confetti set in Versamark and clear embosssed. Then sponged TH Distress Spun Sugar ink, then over stamped SU En Francais script stamp over one corner. I repleated stamping the dots onto my card base and again inked lightly on one corner and slightly on the left hand spine side.
I cut my squares formthe 9cm square I'd inked. Making 1 x 5cm and 2 x 4cm squares.
Stamped the SU HB senitment and placed the squares as you can see.
Added the die cit SU daisy flower and bling to finish.
The daisy looks a bit flat, but, there are 4 layers, shaped with my thumb and fore finger for extra dimension.

SO much scope this week, maybe too much?
Sure you will find your card fits lots more than 3!

Have fun and see you through the week on your own blogs

Week 85 Theme

For our theme this week we have a really easy project for you... simply incorporate an
OVAL
into your design somewhere... what could be easier?

I always make my wedding couples a card in their colour scheme. This one as black and white...of course!
Firstly I embossed the 'oval' designer frame by Stampin Up through my Big Shot on a larger piece of card. Then cut around it, placing it evenly around the ival embosssed frame. The sentiment is computer generated and the fabulous font is called Ma Sexy. I punched this with an oval punch, again SU and mounted 3d into the centre. Pinched flowers in black and a SU leaf branch. Gems to finish. Uber easy, but using an oval nevertheless!

I discovered the stamps from the Rubber Stamp Gallery some time ago and really love the ones I have. Some of you may remember the sea birds I used on my card for our Sewing challenge, here is another from their range featuring a stylised boat, it really appeals to me. The waves were made from the waste from my SU scalloped edge punch. I added the birds as an afterthought. The sentiment was die cut from the Sizzix Typewriter die.

Another stamp from the Rubber Stamp Gallery. This makes me think of summer cottages by the sea... I really like the birds you can find which look as though they have been carved from driftwood... all sun bleached and worn.
The sentiment is from SU, cut out with a Word Window punch and reduced in size, then mounted on  the larger SU sentiment punchie, which I wrapped with a little baker's twine.

Week 84 One Layer Challenge

Firstly a small housekeeping matter,
A few months ago we extended the time for your submissions to 11pm [23:00 BST]
There are only a handful of later entries so as of this week we are returning to our original closure time of
9pm [21:00hrs British Summer Time]

Everybody's favourite!
The
One Layer Card
Challenge Week

For the focus of your contributions this week we would like to see
FOLIAGE
but PLEASE don't forget to leave that all important white space...

I guess lots of you have come to expect this kind of card from me on one layer weeks. You know how much I love inking and a little emboss resist and so here is my favourite French Foliage stamp set from SU, plus the leaf image from the confetti set.
I masked the card and then lightly dusted the exposed panel with Lucky Limeade ink and then when dry stamped the tiny leaves with Versamark and clear embossed them. After this I added the Cajun Craze (with a little Pumpkin Pie for good measure) at the base of the panel and some Pool Party at the top.
Finally the larger leaves were stamped with Cajun Craze, my little splodges stamp found its way into the scene too!
I drew some lines at the top and bottom of the panel as the edges were not crisp enough for my liking and then added embossed lines too, using a score board.
The sentiment is from Art Impressions.
Here is a little letterpress effect card. I used my Cuttlebug leaf embossing folder, which I inked on the raised leaf side with Lucky Limeade ink before adding the card and running through my Cuttlebug machine.
The sentiment is from an AAW Printworks stamp.
Simples!

Mandi

The stamp is from a Stampin Up set Borderlines. I used the new 'Gumball Green' from the new addition In Colours that have just been launched. I think this is a fabulous shade! SU ink pads have been given a new design, both with the packaging, slightly and the inky bit. They are now a smoother, wetter pad. I like them!
Don't need to say what I did.....won't insult you!
Sentiment is also from Stampin' up.

Using a couple of stamps rom Inylicious Meadow Breze set here  and also one from Stampn Up Pocket Silhousttes inking again in Gumball Green, Wysteria Wonder and Bashful Blue.
Stamped and double stamped randomly until I thought there was enough!

The sentiment, easier to see IRL, is Katzelkraft here It is THE most fabulous set, different style for me but I love it. My lovely Chrissie bought it for me last year.

Maybe you can see better here when you enlarge it

I didn't do a personal blog post, thank you for the couple that noticed. I didn't have anything else to offer, and don't again this week...sorry
BUT have done a post on my blog

Have fun with your one layer cards, we look forward to seeing your designs.

Stampin Up Chocolate Chip card to make a 6" square card The holes are a die from Simon Says Bright pink card from stash, stuck to the inside of the back of the card to show through the holes. Flower die also Simon Says I cut the flower heads twice more  in pink and shaped them with my fingers Sentiment computer generated Liorah font

Chocolate Pink Petticoat design papers printed onto baby pink card Top panel embossed with Swiss Dots.
Dimensions are 15cm [6"] square the cake panels are 5 cm deep, then 9, 7.5 and 6cm wide.

Chrissie
I have used my fairly new Stampin' Up Bright Blossoms stamp set for this card, coloured with Stampin' Up markers in Chocolate Chip, Soft Suede and Pixie Pink. I also used the markers to colour the edges of the square mounts to tone in with the images. I popped the front vase onto 3D pads to give a little relief. Two of the flowers and the butterfly were gently twinkled with glamour Dust. The background embossing is from a Sizzix border folder. The sentiment is also Stampin' Up.

I stamped the WOW background stamp in Soft Suede and used it for the Embosslits butterflies and the base layer of the rectangle. The pink layer is embossed with a Stampin Up folder. A few pearls and a sentiment from Art Impressions and it was done.
I did one other card, but it was SO like Mandi's that I have put it on my personal blog... we do think alike so often, young Mandi and me!

We haven't often had a combination of colours and we hope that you enjoy working with this pairing. We'll look forward to seeing what you produce. We know that you inspire each other... and us too.
Have fun!
