This week we are having a challenge not previously employed at "Less is More".
We have only two sample cards this time as we would like you to choose one (or both if you feel so inclined) and CASE IT/them.
There could be a variety of ways that this could be achieved... ie use of the colours, the layout, the subject matter, technique or the complete card. Please state the inspiration for your CASE.
Jen
I decided to make my card using a few favourite items and some new goodies. Using crumb cake and pool party card stock The pennant and the sentiment are both heat embossed with pool party embossing powder. I have then pierced around the sentiment and the edge of the card. The sentiment is punched out using an SU punch too.
Chrissie
This is a simple version of a technique I saw in Blogland recently, whereby two pieces of card are stamped with the identical stamp or stamps and then one of them used for the cut-out sentiment which is then carefully superimposed over the other stamped card.
Here I used a stamp from Stempelglede and a die from W Plus 9.
I embossed the top of the card with a heart die from Simon Says Stamp.
Sorry - I'm new to this. What exactly does it mean to "CASE" it? Does it mean to use it for inspiration to create something new, or is there something else involved? Sorry to be a bit stupid...?!

Both cards are gorgeous, thanks for the inspiration. X
ReplyDeleteTo CASE a card means to copy it entirely or to use it as inspiration for your card. You could use the layout, the colours, the technique or the theme, but we should be able to see the relationship between your card and the card which inspired it.
ReplyDeleteI hope this helps to make things a little clearer for you.
So beautiful xx
ReplyDeleteLovely cards ladies. A xx

Yay, I'm not last-minute this week! That was fun CASEing Jen's card! I haven't tried the technique you used on your stunning card, Chrissie, but I'm dying to do that, so hopefully I'll be back with a CASE of yours!
ReplyDeleteHi Chrissie & Jen - just a quick one for Chrissie regarding buying more alpha dies........if you pop over to Oyster Stamps they have got the Memory Box Large Classic Alpha dies for £18.50 (upper case) and £15 (lower case) - an absolute steal!!!
