ShowCASe Week 159

Showcase Week 159 Masculine
The masculine theme was so popular with so many LIMettes last week and we were blessed by a host of fabulous submissions, making the selection process extremely difficult.
We're sure you'll think that our choices are rather spectacular!

Love this super fun card

Hannelie

Just couldn't resist this fabulous Gekko

Vicky

Stunning composition of elements

With so many wonderful submissions it was difficult to limit the selection to just three!

Week 160 - Recipe

For our recipe this week we have chosen
METAL
We'd like to see something made from metal on your creation.
Anything will do, charms, soda can scraps, diecuts, eyelets, paperclips, brads, whatever you can come up with!
Chrissie is off to Australia for a month on a wonderful holiday and so Anne has offered to Guest once more...Mandi may show her face also. In Chrissie's absence she really hopes that you will try to visit fellow participants to leave a friendly word as she probably won't manage too many!

Here I used a sheet of emboss-able metal to make the feature  panel for this card. I over printed the sheet with a  script stamp prior to embossing. It was lightly sanded afterwards!
The image really pops doesn't it!

This card was requested by a friend for her father to give to her mother for their DIAMOND ANNIVERSARY! What an achievement... 60 years of marriage!
There is no stamping here as the sentiment was computer generated  and the focus all die cut.
I used a new Sizzix die Set  655405 of Dogwood flowers. I have a real soft spot for these as they are the state flower of Virginia where we lived for a while many years ago! The bird and the background mount are from SU! As the flowers stick up rather, I decided to make a box for this card too!
The metal is the heart charm!

Jen

Just one card from me this week as I slowly get back into card making... Although work has been so busy so not done much since the weekend.  I've used a stamp from Clearly besotted and white embossed it onto lavender vellum. The clearly besotted star dies cute out emboss able metal sheet and then i ran them through a polka dot embossing folder too!
I've another busy week at work so I will try and visit as many of you as I can ...

Anne

Anne has been busy visiting and commenting on LIM submissions (thank you Anne) and will continue to do so in Chrissie absence (Chrissie has made cards for the challenges even though she probably won't have commenting  opportunities whilst on holiday!)
Please visit Anne's blog for details of her card.

ShowCASe Week 158

Good Morning!
Today I have been struggling with my laptop and I apologise for the delay in publishing our ShowCASe for week 158
It has taken me nearly an hour to open the page to start creating this post!
Let's hope things goes a little quicker from now on!
We had some wonderful one layer creations and here are the choices for this time.

Sidan

Super monochrome creation1

Sonja

What a wonderful colour mix!

Jules

Such beautiful translucent colours!

Ann

These flowers look so  cheerful, they bring a smile to one's face!

Please take our showcase badge ladies and many thanks to everyone for your support of our challenges!
Do join us again tomorrow for another fun Clean and Simple  challenge!

Week 159

This week our theme is one for the chaps!
SO we'd like to see a
MASCULINE
card.
Any aged chap will do as long as the card is for the male gender!

Jen

Firstly thanks for all your support... I am trying slowly to get back into crafting and blogging, but finding it hard so really glad you you are sticking with me for a bit.  I have a really quick card for you today using a couple of January release sets from Clearly Besotted.

I stamped the sentiment first then embossed with black embossing powder and then simply stamped the circles from one set in versamark in a random pattern.

This card uses one of my new dies from Impression Obsession, coloured with Copics and glazed with Anita's 3D gloss.
The sentiment is from Stampin' Up. I added a little interest to the background by stamping some script and some splats from SU's French Foliage, in Bashful Blue over the daubed ink.
A friend asked for a card with a brown chicken on for her 10 year old son. Here is a 'Totally excited' one from Penny Black. I love these chickens although I have to admit to never colouring one in brown before... I tend to opt for white ones!!
The chicken wire is from a Cheery Lyn die.
The sentiment was chosen by my friend.

You may have noticed that Jen has been finding things difficult at the moment and so Anne has stepped up to offer some Guest Designer samples and to comment on entries to our challenges.
Here are her cards for this week!

You can find details of these cards on her blog here.
I do try to visit each and every entry to our challenges, but if you could visit a few fellow participants to leave a cheery word, I'm sure it would bring lots of joy to the recipient!

ShowCASe Week 157 Rainbow

Rainbow ShowCASe

What lovely submissions we had for our Birthday Week!
Choosing was a real pleasure!

If entire blogs are linked to our challenge, instead of linking directly to the specific card, it makes finding submissions difficult. When the times comes to create our showcase, if we can't easily find submissions then they may not be included !!
These colours really pop!

What a sweetie...love those rainbow leggings!

What a refreshing change from a simple silhouette!

Ardyth's glossy rainbow heart is simply stunning!

One Layer Week 158

The weeks come around so quickly and it's
ONE LAYER
week once more.
This time
Anything Goes!

Here is a simple cascade of flowers, all from Stampin' Up, stamped with my new SU ink, Soft Sky. I think it's such a pretty shade.
This one is a spot of emboss resist and is one incarnation of my one layer card in Craft Stamper Magazine this month!  I did several until I was happy with everything... this one didn't quite make the cut, although it is very similar to the published one.

Jen
Watch this space!
Jen is away in Cambridge this weekend and kinda forgot to upload her card before she left, so she'll pop it on on Monday when she's home again!
Have a great weekend Jen!
I hope everyone else has a great weekend too!

Week 156 ShowCASe

Showcase Week 156
Jen's Sketch proved extremely popular with so many LIMettes last week and we were blessed by a host of fabulous submissions, making the selection process extremely difficult.
We're sure you'll think that our choices are rather spectacular!

Such a clever interpretation of the sketch... spotlighting one of the flowers to make the feature element on the horizontal band.
Fabulous card!

What a beautiful creation, the colours are so fresh!

This is such a pretty card and I was so sad to see when I revisited Nicole's blog to add her card to our showcase that mine was the only comment.  Do please pop by her blog and leave a friendly word!

The second of two fabulous cards submitted by Janet last week.

Birgit continues to inspire us each week. What an amazing interpretation of the sketch!

We have a couple of extra cards in our showcase this week, but with so many wonderful submissions it was difficult to limit the selection to just three!
Congratulations ladies!

Our colour challenge for this week is
RAINBOW

Now for the guest designers...

Mary - From the Ribbon Girl

Michelle from Card Grotto (Using Clearly Besotted)

Andrea from The Ribbon Girl

Beverly from Uniko Studio

Tara  from Make the Day Special

A very simple card from me today using a little banner punch in a rainbow of coloured card.  The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.

I just also want to thank you all for you support... I'm not completely back on my crafting feet so you will probably have to bear with me for a few more weeks yet but I hope I can find my mojo again very soon!!

Don't forget to check out my blog to see if you won my January Candy too!!!!

For this card I die cut the butterfly shape from scrap card and used it as a template to sponge on the rainbow colours using sponge daubers. I then popped the complementary die cut butterfly into the gap and daubed black ink through that onto the butterfly.
Lots of paper piercing around the image and the edges of the card framed it before it was popped onto a black card base. The sentiments are from Katzelkrafts.
We hope that you will enjoy this week and visit lots of other participants to spread a little joy!

Mandi

Many of you may not remember or even know me, but, it was Chrissie and I that originally started LIM THREE years ago...GOSH! I had to step down October 2012 as I bought a wedding hire company. We are doing pretty well, my stationery is going fabulously, it's pretty much non stop at times! So no time for general creating or LIM, sadly. I am lucky enough to have made a wonderful friend in Chrissie whom I value greatly.

Thank you as always to Jen for stepping in and assisting Chrissie to take LIM even further. Also to the wonderful sponsors and Guest Designers.

Chrissie mentioned to me about making a card and there is is above! Really fast, but, I can use it for a  bride marrying shortly who is having a rainbow of sashes on her chairs, it should look really pretty. Excuse the photo, not too sure what's happened to the colour!

When Chrissie asked me, I had literally the day before made these place cards.....

Before I go I wanted to say I still miss you all very much and to show you a few pics form my shop.
It has changed somewhat!

If you are interested click here to see our Facebook page, you can see some of the work we do

Bye for now, happy crafting and happy birthday 'us'
Mandi xx
