Lucky Dip and Guest Designer Week 126

June is another five Saturday month and so we are lucky enough to have a
Guest Designer
joining us this time and it's
(Desert Diva)

We're sure that you have loved seeing her fabulous designs and using the free sentiments which she has offered during many of our challenges.
(We really hope that you are still taking the time to visit at least a few of your fellow participants, leaving a friendly word and gaining inspiration from their work.)
As an acknowledgement of Hannelie's location and blog name, the challenge we have chosen for this week is
SAND
You may decide to use the colour, the texture, scenes of sandy places, sandpaper, actual sand... or wherever your imagination takes you.
Here is Hannelie's contribution, thanks Hannelie, beautiful work as always!

I couldn't resist using these fabulous little crabs from The Alley Way Stamps... perfect for my little beach scene.  The sentiment is also from the same set.  The DP is from Stampin UP
Thank you so much for all the fabulous cards and birthday wishes last week.... Don't forget the birthday candy is open for another week...

This is a digi image by Arielle from the Wax Fruit Company. She was one of our ShowCASe choices recently and her work is stunning. Just makes me think 'I wish I was there!'
Coloured with markers and  little Glamour Dust added, I cut it out and popped it onto dimensional pads for a little relief.
The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.
I shall be going to the Sincerely Yours Craft Show in Portsmouth on Sunday 30th and would love to see any of you who may also be hoping to attend!

ShowCASe Week 124 Hexagons

This week presented a few problems to some crafters... not having a hexagon to their names amongst accumulated stash, however LIMettes were not to be put off and intrepid as ever managed some amazing creations.
Here are our ShowCASe choices
 for week 124
Computer generated hexagons printed onto free 'Bee Papers' (Great ingenuity)

More resourcefulness employed here to a beautiful end!

This honeycomb looks so realistic

How cleverly these hexagons are linked and given relief!
It's always difficult to limit our showcase choices, but we're sure you'll agree these are fab!
Please take the badge to display on your blogs ladies and well done!

Week 125 Happy Birthday!

Today is very special and so is our challenge this time.
It's someone's birthday!
We like you to make a card suitable for
JEN!
It's her birthday and so we'd like to see a CAS card that you think that she would like!
It's also Chrissie's husband's birthday today too, but Phil is a few years ahead of Jen!

Jen is hopefully having fun celebrating her birthday in Istambul.  I'm sure you'll all join with me to wish her a very
Happy Birthday!
This card has an image from Impression Obsession and lots of glitter!
Sorry for the not very good picture!

Although I didn't send this one to Jen, I think this is the kind of card that she would like!
The stamps are from Paper Smooches.
A little 3D Gloss has brightened it up considerably!
If you would like to see the card I made for my husband too, head over to my personal blog. It would be great to see you there too.
Thanks

I'm currently in Istanbul but I thought I would still share a card with you.

If I had to make myself a birthday it would contain cats, fish or butterflies... I decided to go for this supercute kitty in a box from Simon Says Stamp! The paper is from LilyBee Designs and it's simply finished off with some stitching.

To celebrate my birthday I also have a little Candy on the post with this card on my blog!
Do join us for this fun challenge but as ever please remember to leave some white space on your submissions!

Week 124 Theme

For our Theme this week we have chosen something this is very prevalent in Blogland at present... and that is
HEXAGONS.
There seem to be all sorts in evidence at the moment from dies and stamps to embossing folders and even hexagonal shaped cards.
You are such an inventive bunch of people, it will be great to see what you can come up with.
Here are our samples for this week!
Jen

Ok so less than a week until I go to Istanbul for my birthday, work is starting to calm down so I'll be back to normal when I get back. My mojo is a little hidden but I love the colour combo on my first card.

I've used an embossing folder from cuttlebug on the reverse to texture the card then added perfect plum ribbon from Stampin Up and a sentiment from this years sale-a-bration from SU to finish it off.

My second card uses the same colour card base and scraps of My Minds Eye papers cut with the hexagon die from Clearly Besotted.  I've scattered them in line with the new Sketch at Sketch Saturday  !!
The sentiment is from simon says stamp.

The definition of a hexagon is a polygon with six angles and six sides... well the chicken wire on this stamp from Clearly Besotted is constructed of lots of figures with six angles and six sides. I thought it quite fitting to go with an image of strawberries as you often need some similar kind of netting to keep the birds off the ripening fruit.
This stamp was part of one from a grab bag from Creative  Images. I have coloured it with Copics and added a little 3D gloss to the strawberries. They do look really juicy in reality.
This one has all sorts of hexagons.
Paper from Pink Petticoat, dry embossing from Stampin' Up and stamped hexagons and the bee from Clearly Besotted.
The letters are from Cuttlebug's Typewriter alphabet dies. Stampin' Up's River Rock ink just matched how the Pink Petticoat paper emerged from my printer.
Come on LIMettes, lets get all geometric!

One Layer Week 123

We loved a sneak peek at your front doors last week, thanks so much for them.
It's amazing how quickly these One Layer Weeks come round.
Our theme for your cards this week is
Need for Speed
Don't forget that white space and do have fun!

There's often a need for speed with this type of emergency vehicle!
Here I have used stamps from Clearly Besotted, which I coloured with Promarkers. These stamps are such good quality and give clear impressions with many different kinds of ink.

Here is a nostalgic reminder of a really fast vehicle in its day!
The stamps are from Stampin' Up and the sentiment from Clearly Besotted.

Jen

I went for a different kind for my first card.. the speed a Superhero needs.  After watching Spiderman movie the other night it inspired me to get out this little image of a supermouse swinging though the air!  It's simply coloured with promarkers. The sentiment is from Penny Black.

My second card is really simple.  I have used the Jet out of the need for speed set from Stampin Up and it's stamped in black versa fine.  The little note-let is finished off with some black and white bakers twine from East of India.

Week 122 Colour

A new month and a new sponsor!
We are delighted to have

as our sponsor this month.
Jen is on the DT over there, bringing  a fresh CAS slant on their fabulous images. If you have never thought thought of their stamps in the CAS context do see what Jen can do with them!
As it is a new month we are back to a colour challenge and this time we want you to use the
COLOUR OF YOUR FRONT DOOR!
We would like to see a pic of your front door too if possible, but is not absolutely necessary!
Jen

My front door is black with white trim so I've made both my cards mainly black. I'll be back with a  photo later as I forgot to take one :-(

For my first card I simple used some fabulous ribbon from The Ribbon Girl and cut out a V in each piece.  The Sentiment is from Stampin up.  Nice and simple.

.
My second card uses a technique fairly new to me... I have given the chalkboard effect a go just once before but I thought these fabulous new stamps from the new release at Lili Of The Valley were perfect for it.  This is from the Statement Stamps Set..Just To Say. I simply stamped in in craft white ink from Stampin Up and then once dry rubbed in some white pastel chalk. The ribbon is from Stampin Up also.

If you are in the Leeds area Saturday 1st June I am also demonstrating at the LOTV open day.  please do pop by and say hello!

My front door is brown on the outside, so here is a little brown owl sitting on his branch. He's from Paper Smooches and is coloured with Copics. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up.
The touch of green is to represent the plant in the pot that you can just see on the left of the pic.

The inside of my front door happens to be white so I did a second card reflecting this colour.
The shapes, reminiscent of the panelling within the door, are made with Spellbinders dies and the butterflies  are stamped  and die-cut with products from Clearly Besotted.

I'm sorry that I appeared to be MIA last week, but I was in Italy on tour with my choir, where it was rather cold and wet... and only half the choir made it... details are on my personal blog!

We hope you enjoy this challenge!
