Week #293 - One Layer

Hi there LIMettes
we're back at our ONE LAYER card week challenge!
No groaning though as it should be an easy one to work with!

We've chosen

Your Favourite Flower
so drag out all those images of beautiful blooms then stamp
and colour away. Clean and simple and on the one layer
and we are looking forward to gallery bursting with stunning florals

Here's what the design team came up with and there could
be a couple of extras if you'd like to pop across to our personal blogs!

We hope you enjoy this one and if you could leave a friendly word
with some of your fellow participants I'm sure it would be appreciated.

  1. What a lovely theme and great examples. It was just an easy challenge this time for me this week, because I made such a card yesterday. Just because I wanted to make a one-layer card. So I'm early today. Have a nice weekend, Ankie

  3. Being newly able to do cards again after several years, clean and simple and one layer cards weren't such a 'thing' when I was last crafting. So, I've read the guidelines, but am still not entirely sure I understand the one layer thing.

Is it that everything has to be actually on the cardstock itself and not sticking up? so no stickers or embellishments - all paint or stamping etc that lies flat on teh cardstock?

    3. So I could do my stamping say on a green piece of card, and stick that onto white cardstock? and that would qualify as a single layer? (most of my cards I use white cardstock and stick a same sized piece of coloured card onto the white. It saves me fiddling around with inserts....)

    4. Also, I'm thinking of trying out soot stamping for this one. Where you use a candle to get soot onto glossy paper (photo paper in this case) then use the stamp to lift the soot. I think. I'm not sure it's in an old magazine I've got. Then I'll trim the sooty photo card (after fixing) and mount it onto exactly same size front of normal white cardstock. Would that be a one layer card?

    5. That's the idea lol. In reality it will probably catch fire, the stamping will smudge and both cats will sneeze and walk all over it.... but worth a try....

    6. Any stamping has to DIRECTLY ON THE CARD BASE!
NO extra layers stuck on of any sort! No stamping on green card stuck on to white card...no sticking anything onto anything, just working directly on the card base! No margin for error either, that's why it's such fun!
It sounds as though you have fun with your card making!
